Women’s empowerment is a central concept in contemporary development discourse and is closely associated with social justice, human rights, and sustainable development. Although Bangladesh has made considerable progress in women’s education, questions remain regarding how education contributes to women’s empowerment in practice. This study aimed to examine women’s opinions and experiences regarding empowerment through education. A descriptive and analytical approach was adopted. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 50 female students aged 18–24 years studying at a Home Economics College, selected through purposive sampling. Secondary data were obtained from books, research articles, journals, and reports. The findings indicate that most respondents consider education a major means of women’s empowerment. Education contributes to increased self-confidence, decision-making capacity, social participation, and economic capability. However, family restrictions, social misconceptions, financial constraints, and gender-based attitudes remain major barriers. The study concludes that education is an effective instrument of empowerment, but supportive policies and changes in social attitudes are essential.
